Star Fleet Battles

The first version of Star Fleet Battles was released towards the end of the seventies and since then it has had a small but very keen following. This is without doubt a game that divides opinions. Firstly, it suffers in taking some time to learn the rules. While the rules do allow great depth of play once mastered this takes longer than most people are willing to spend. Secondly, the Star Trek Universe and style of combat is based on the TV series from the 60's. So there are no Borg or Ferngi and ships actually engage at a range appropriate to high tech weapons.
